George Ward of Baltimore County

Page history last edited by Ellen Ward 1 yr ago

George Ward who appears as a witness to a deed in Nov 1672 between James Magregory and Hugh Fouch must have been either a relative or a neighbor or both. Henry and William Ward both owned property on Sassafras Neck. The deeds that George witnessed place him in the same vicinity as Henry and William Ward at the same time. They were all present in the north side of Sassafras Neck, on the west side of the Bohemia River. I just need to prove a family connection.

Henry Ward (1638-1683) owned 1400 acres of Poplar Neck since 1666 on St. Alban's Creek on the south side of Elk River on 4 Mar 1667 in Baltimore County (now Cecil County), Maryland.

William Ward (1646-1720) owned 300 acres of The Level since Dec 1671 near the head of Back Creek on north side of Sassafras River.

Deed, November 7, 1671, John Cock, Ann Cock, and Andrew Peterson conveying to William Ward the tract "The Levell: of 300 acres, near the head of Back Creek on north side of Sassafras River. Witnesses: John Richardson, Henry White.
