William Lofton (sometimes transcribed as Logsdon) was transported about 1673.
He married Elizabeth who died 20 Oct 1703/4 (St. George's Parish Register, Harford County, MD).
William and Elizabeth Lofton were the parents of:
- Thomas, b. 25 November, 1691 at the head of Swan Creek
- Isabel, b. 10 December 1693 at Musketa Creek
- Ann, b. 10 August 1696 at the head of Swan Creek
- William, b. 12 December 1699
- Elizabeth, b. 12 July 1702
In 1695, he was listed as head of household in Spesutia Hundred, Baltimore County.
On 14 July, 1697, William Lofton was listed as a debtor to Mrs. Mary Utie of Baltimore County.
On 3 May, 1699, he was listed as a debtor to Daniel Palmer of Baltimore County.
On 3 June 1699, William Lofton and Richard Perkins appraised the personal estate of Francis Chittam.
In 1701 Daniel Johnson purchased 200 acres of the patent tract "Eightropp," lying on the Sassafras River, from William Loften, cooper, who signed with an X. This deed was witnessed by Thomas and Rachel Greenfield both of whom also signed with an X. Again, on 2 March 1702 Daniel Johnson, planter, purchased land, this time 32 acres from Richard and Mary Perkins, (cooper) part of 550 acres originally patented by Thomas Griffith. This deed is witnessed by Francis Smith and John Browne. "Eightropp" was near Lapidum in present day Harford County, almost directly across the Susquehanna from Havre de Grace.
On 4 March 1703/4, James Ives of Baltimore County wrote a will leaving personalty to several people including William Lofton and his heirs.
He was buried 13 April 1704.
